Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced the signing of 28-year-old Haitian midfielder James Marcelin ahead of the 2014 Fall season.

“James is physically one of the strongest players in the league, especially for his position,” said Strikers Head Coach Günter Kronsteiner. “He has all the tools needed to play at the highest level. He’s technically strong, never loses a one on one. He’s going to be very important for us.”
Born in Saint-Marc, Haiti, the 6’2” midfielder has 24 caps for the Haitian National team, including starts in the 2009 Gold Cup and in several World Cup qualifiers. In 2011 and 2012 he appeared in 23 games for the Portland Timber and 16 games for FC Dallas of MLS.
